Day 43 Update: Progress and Reflections

This week's journey to the clinic for my regular injection and official weigh-in brought with it another milestone: a reduction to 92.8kg/204.6lbs from last week's 93.8kg/206.8lbs. This 1kg/2.2lbs drop is a testament to the continued effectiveness of the treatment, and naturally, it's a development I'm quite pleased with.

In an effort to keep up with my active lifestyle, I've encountered a minor setback - a light stress injury in my left foot, likely a repercussion from last week's half marathon. To prevent further aggravation, I've shifted my focus to stationary biking. While not my exercise of choice, it's proven to be a valuable alternative, ensuring I stay active without compromising my recovery. It's reassuring to have a plan B for these kinds of situations.

Fortunately, my appetite has remained manageable, and I'm grateful for the continued absence of any significant side effects from the medication.

However, today's reflection brought forth a concern that's been lurking in the back of my mind. Once this clinical trial concludes, the possibility looms that I might not have access to this medication. Considering the other medication I'm on, which tends to slow my metabolism and increase my appetite, the thought of not having this effective counterbalance is worrisome. A mere month-long interruption caused by an injury or another unforeseen issue could potentially reverse my hard-earned progress.

The uncertainty of the future weighs on me, stirring hopes that Wegovy, or something similar, will remain a part of my health regimen. The journey has been enlightening and transformative, and the thought of navigating what comes next without this aid is daunting. Here's to hoping for a future where such support is accessible and sustainable.
