Day 11 Reflection: Adjusting to Changes and Noticing Improvements
Despite eating more than my current reduced appetite would usually suggest yesterday, I believe I'm still in a calorie deficit, thanks in part to the extensive football game. The balance between intake and expenditure continues to be a point of learning and adjustment.
Last night, sleep was elusive, leading to a day marked by fatigue. This lack of rest undoubtedly impacts my energy levels and overall mood, underscoring the importance of good sleep hygiene, especially during a period of dietary and physical change.
In an effort to stay active despite the tiredness, I opted for a treadmill run. Keeping the pace moderate at 10.5 kph, I was pleasantly surprised to find my heart rate staying around 140 bpm. This suggests an improvement in my running efficiency, which could be attributed to several factors: perhaps recovering more fully from a previous bout of Covid, the weight loss I've experienced so far, or even refinements in my running form. Pinpointing the exact reason is challenging, but the positive shift is welcome.
Tonight, I plan to prioritize rest, aiming for an early night to recuperate and hopefully regain some energy. The journey so far has been a mix of challenges and victories, small and large. Recognizing and celebrating the improvements, like today's efficient run, motivates me to continue adjusting and adapting to this new routine.
