Day 6 Reflection: Adjustments and Challenges
My appetite continues to remain altered with no significant changes from the past few days. It's still noticeably reduced compared to my pre-trial norm.
In terms of exercise, I ventured back into weight lifting for the first time since the onset of the Wegovy trial. There's an awareness on my part that muscle mass might decrease over the next six months, but my aim is to maintain as much strength as possible.
Post-workout, I felt particularly exhausted, a contrast to my usual post-exercise state. The challenge of consuming sufficient protein became evident, as my reduced appetite made it tough to eat enough. Even with a conscious effort to increase my intake at dinner, I found that my appetite was significantly curtailed, leading to me consuming roughly half of what I usually would.
Sleep was elusive last night. I struggled to fall asleep and eventually got up to eat something, which helped settle my nerves and allowed me to rest.
This journey is proving to be a continuous learning process about how my body reacts to the trial and the changes in my diet and appetite. The balance between maintaining physical strength and adapting to a new eating pattern is a delicate one that I'm still navigating.
I haven't been doing any strength training for about a month due to covid, so I reduced the load on all exercises to ease my way back into it.
